My name is LeaMarie Villafana and I am a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology. I am 21 years old and grew up on the South Shore of Long Island, now living in Brooklyn Heights. I have recently graduated with an Associates of Fine Arts degree from the Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design Department. The arts have been very important to me since a very young age. I am also looking to go back in Fall 2013 for my Bachelor’s degree in Fabric Styling. I am currently between semesters.
I began babysitting and caring for children when I was 16, as a summer job. I enjoy being around and teaching young toddlers and children. The thing that I love about children is that they have a pure view of the world, and have an urge to learn as much as they can. So far I have looked after a two year old girl, a boy and a girl (both six year old twins), two eight year old twin boys, and one ten year old boy. Being that I watched all of them during the summer months, we spent much time doing outdoor high energy activities. I am a firm believer in not being sedentary, but getting up and doing fun activities, no matter the season! I also have a passion for food and love cooking delicious, healthy snacks and meals. I tend to let the children help me make the meals and snacks, letting them taste along the way to start promoting healthy eating habits early in life. I have great patience and I am good at helping with school work. I am clean and organized and will certainly help getting things in order if need be!
