My name is Amy Sanchez and I am a graduate student at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration in pursuit of my school social work licensure. I am an intern at Goethe Elementary School in Logan Square where I apply my training in counseling and therapeutic support to children ages 3-14. I have been babysitting for over ten years and have considerable professional experience with young children (3-6). While an undergraduate student at Northwestern University I taught part-time in a Head Start preschool in Rogers Park for three years where I received substantial training in early childhood literacy and language development in fulfillment of AmeriCorps education requirements. I am also the children’s ministry director for my church where I oversee teaching, logistics, and childcare for 30+ babies, toddlers, and elementary schoolers on a weekly basis. I am also a proud Lincoln Square resident (and Chicago transplant from Seattle, WA)! You can often find me running on the river trail or dragging my husband into various shops in the Square.
