Hi there! My name is Hannah, I am a musical theatre major at Roosevelt University. Currently I spend my mornings before school teaching toddlers at a Montessori preschool, but I’ve loved teaching and watching young kids for as long as I can remember. When it came time for my little brother, Drew, to go to school, my mother was panicked as she’d been so busy, she’d forgotten to teach him to read like she had for my older brother and I. So about a week before the start of the school year, she sat down with Drew and put a book in his hands. To her surprise, he read through the entire book with ease. My mom was thrilled to find that I had been ‘playing school’ with him all this time and thus taught him to read. Now I was only about 8 then, but since I’ve continued babysitting for cousins, neighbors, and friends of my mom. In high school I began choreographing musicals for kids aged 9-15 where I’d often lead 30-50 kids at once. I spent last summer teaching theatre and dance to young kids, often handling 20-30 6 year olds at once. I am completely DCFS certified and have cpr/first aid training. At my current job at the preschool, I primarily lead a classroom of 2-year-olds, but I am often pulled out to help with the infants and young toddlers as well.
