I believe that hard work can go a long way, but sometimes guidance can take you even further in a race. As a student at Villanova, I am more than familiar with how it feels to be in need of tutelage. I am an organized, dedicated, and resourceful educator who enjoys working to help students .

With a penchant for teaching and assisting others in learning, I have gained much experience with tutoring and working with younger children as well as young adults within the age range of 5-17. I have tutored children of elementary school and middle school level subjects in the summer program at Power Brain for four years. I have also worked at an after school program at the YWCA as a Teacher’s Assistant by helping children around the ages 8-12 with homework. I have also worked with students by tutoring Chinese in Mandarin at the Modern Chinese School in Flushing. I have tutored fellow peers during my high school experience in Algebra I & II, Biology, Chemistry, Geometry, Physics, Spanish, US History, World History, and Calculus.

I channel my academic talents by helping children of all ages specifically in mathematics and sciences since I am majoring in mathematics and biology. These subjects are my strengths for levels up to SAT preparation, for I am well versed with standardized tests and AP/Honors Courses. My SAT mathematics is the strongest since I achieved a full score of 800 on my exam. Although I specialize in mathematics and sciences, I am a real rounded tutor who can assist in English and History as well. I have studied Spanish for five years now, and still continuing to study the language at my university. I am qualified to help with this area up to level 3. In addition to Spanish, I am fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin (able to read and write).

While as a tutor I can offer help with homework, studying, better understanding of the school material, as well as new material I can introduce. Each lesson can be customized for each individual student based on the desire and needs. I use special learning and memory techniques to help students learn information and retain it better. Recalling the information is just as important as memorizing it, thus, I utilize unique skills that use visualization and application of learned material in everyday life to create the most prolific and efficient learning experience as possible. I like to pass on my secrets I used and learned in my elementary school and high school years to benefit my students in succeeding. My passion is focused on helping them achieve their academic goals without stress and within a timely manner. With my upbeat personality, enthusiasm, and persistence I will take you from the starting line to the finish line in my dynamic lessons! Personally, I like to approach education with an open mind and for a personal touch I can cater to the specific needs of all of students with a flexible time schedule, patience, and techniques to go about the material at hand for every student.

I like to make lessons convenient for the student, while still maintaining a healthy learning environment. I can travel to various locations and work in private homes or more public areas (library, bookstore, coffee shop, etc. ) depending on the preferences of the individual. I can also ensure a quiet and comfortable studying space out of my own home, but this option does not exercise as much freedom time wise. I am happy to accommodate to my students’ convenience.
