Hi! My name is Abbie, and Im a second year Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) student at Ohio State University. I also recently completed my Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science with a Minor in Psychology. I have always loved working with kids and hope to work as an occupational therapist with the pediatric population in the future.

Ive gained hands-on experience with children through a variety of personal and professional opportunities. Ive babysat regularly for my aunt over the years and was often recommended by her to other families. Ive cared for children ranging from 6 months to 12 years old, and Im open and comfortable working with all age groups. Im patient, upbeat, dependable, and flexiblequalities that have helped me connect well with children and create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment.

In addition to babysitting, Ive worked as a supervisor at the RPAC, Ohio States main recreation facility, where Ive developed strong responsibility, time management, and communication skills. Im also CPR certified, which helps parents feel confident that their children are in safe hands.

Through my research experience, Ive had the opportunity to work with children with a range of needs:

As a volunteer with AquOTics, I help support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a sensory-friendly aquatic therapy program.

At Nationwide Childrens Hospital, I worked on a research project focused on the early detection of movement disorders in infants, which involved direct parent communication, infant interaction, and careful observation.

My class schedule is fairly consistent, so Im available for part-time or weekend babysitting depending on your family’s needs. Here’s my weekly availability overview:

Thursday: Class 8 AM12:30 PM
