I started working with kids (aside from my own younger sister) when my mom opened an art and music after-school program when I was in high school. I helped make sure kids were doing their homework, made sure everyone got their snacks, and got everyone settled into their after-school activities (painting classes, music lessons, etc.). She then expanded the business to include a summer camp, where I worked as a camp counselor. I was working with up to 20 kids at a time, ages ranging from 6-14. I was responsible for preparing and serving meals, leading the morning stretch or walk, and supervising recess and any free time they had between classes.
I was a nanny for four years for a family with three children and have been an occasional/date night sitter for several families. Nearly every family I have worked for has had a child with special needs, and most have also had pets.
I am currently running a photography business with my husband and going to school part time.
