Hi! My name is Alexis Haynes, and Im a dedicated and compassionate caregiver from Penn Valley, PA. Im currently pursuing my degree in Psychology at North Carolina A&T State University (currently on a gap year), with a strong focus on child and adolescent development. I have over three years of hands-on experience working with children of all ages and abilitiesas a nanny, after-school program assistant, and mentor. I love creating nurturing, structured environments where kids feel safe, seen, and supported.

Why do you love being a sitter?

I love being a sitter because I believe in the power of positive adult influence. Children thrive when theyre supported, encouraged, and given space to growand Im passionate about being part of that process. Whether its helping with homework, planning creative activities, or simply offering a listening ear, I find deep joy in helping kids build confidence and routines that support their growth and happiness. Being a sitter allows me to make a meaningful difference while forming connections that last.

What experience do you have?

My childcare experience includes working as a nanny for a private family with children ages 1 to 10, including a child on the autism spectrum with ADHD and anxiety. I also worked at Hope Academy as an after-school program assistant, where I supported children with a variety of behavioral and developmental needs. Ive volunteered extensively through organizations like Mentor Her, Saints Memorial Church, and Neighbors Helping Neighbors, where I mentored, taught, and supported kids from preschool through high school. From planning fun educational activities to administering medication and creating inclusive spaces, Ive seen and supported children across many life stages and needs.
