Hi! Im McKinley Claire Ulmer, but I go by Claire! Im a 20-year-old sitter and nanny newly based in New York City, originally from Mississippi. I bring over six years of part-time babysitting experience and three years as a full-time nanny. I’ve cared for children of all ages from infants to teens and have extensive experience with kids who have special needs, including nonverbal children and those on the autism spectrum.
In addition to private childcare, Ive worked in kids ministry at church for many years, helping lead and mentor children from ages 1 to 22! Growing up, my mom was both a special education teacher and an elementary educator, so I was raised with a deep respect for intentional, child-centered care. I prioritize being attentive, energetic, understanding, and engaged and I genuinely strive to create an environment thats both fun and enriching for the kids I care for. Outside of childcare, Im a sports enthusiast and a broadcast journalism major with a focus in sports media. I hope to one day be a sports anchor or sideline reporter. Im also pursuing a professional modeling career here in NYC Ive modeled since I was 14, and this move is a step toward giving that dream the attention it deserves. I grew up competitive in pageants and I was Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2023 and spent a year traveling 40,000 miles across the country advocating for my initiative Smiles4Celiac, inspiring children and teens to find purpose through there pain and chase there dreams despite there circumstances, being fully and authentically themselves. That year taught me how to work with people from all walks of life and how to make each child feel seen, heard, and valued.
Im the youngest of four, naturally outgoing, love bringing fun and warmth into every environment. In my free time, I enjoy baking, trying new workout classes, spending time outdoors, going to concerts and sporting events, and exploring the city. Because of the nature of modeling work, Im currently best suited for part-time babysitting roles with some flexibility. That said, Ive loved being a full-time nanny in the past and would be open to the right family where communication and expectations are a mutual fit.
