Hello! My name is Edgar and I am a Philosophy student at New York University with a minor in computer science. Being the eldest in my family, I have had multiple years of experience with kids from four-year-old to fifteen-year-old. I am great with children because I view them as my friends and best buddies and love to teach them the things I know and also love to see what the children have to show me as well. This doesn’t mean I can’t enforce rules, however, since I tend to be very responsible as to what is expected of me. As a CBYX/Fullbright scholar, I did a school year abroad in Germany while I was in high school which immersed me into German and European culture. This experience greatly affected how I view the world around me and helped me to achieve German fluency. I am also fluent in Spanish as my grandmother is from the Huelva region of Spain and I have spent many months in Mexico. I love books and have been reading for as long as I can remember and would love to have my own book someday. I love the arts and natural sciences too and in fact, my first job ever was at a museum! I love the outdoors as well and can easily spend a day on my bike as well as swimming away in a lake, pool, river, or the ocean. I am CPR certified and have worked with the red cross. I may also not be a professionally trained cook but I always try and have fun with new recipes and constantly try new things. I look forward to potentially being your child’s caretaker and would love to meet in person!
