Growing up, my family was a foster home from when I was seven to thirteen years old. I have 6 siblings (all adopted) and they are some of the best things that have ever been put into my life. Over those years, we had close to forty kids come in and out of our home. Seeing and hearing what those kids had been through really opened my eyes from an early age to the world outside of my bubble. I am forever grateful for that because it has made me more empathetic towards everyone. If theres anything in life that I religiously try to live by, its this: You never know what people deal with or have been through, so treat everyone with an equal amount of love and respect.

So if I can even be the smallest light to a child or family I want to do that. I want to be the person they can look back on someday and think, “Oh I had this really cool babysitter once. She taught me how to love musicals and be a huge nerd about weird things like books and movies… But I guess I turned out to be okay!”

I am now a substitute teacher at a private school in BK Heights and I love what I do :)
