My name is Jazmine Brown, and I am a recent college graduate from the University of Alaska Anchorage. I started babysitting when I was in middle school and I looked after two children ages 7 and 12. The twelve-year-old was disabled so he needed to be looked after and I usually did that on the weekends. Then throughout middle school, I helped look after young children at a church in Madison, WI where I used to live. During the summer of 2015, I looked after over 60 children in the PEOPLE program as a Residential Mentor or Camp Counselor. I woke them up, took them to their classes, to their meals, led them to bed and helped them out with anything they needed. The kids were 14 and 15 years old. Then this past summer I worked with a family in their home as a housekeeper and also a tutor for their 7-year-old daughter. After cleaning their house and running their errands, I would help their daughter with homework and read to her as well.
