Hi! My name is Katie, I’m originally from Seattle, and I’ve recently moved to NYC from Madrid, Spain where I was living for the past 10 years teaching English. I love languages; I speak Spanish and a bit of (rusty) German. I was a primary school lead teacher for the past 6 years, teaching 1st and 2nd graders so I grew to really love that age group, but I’ve worked with kids from pre-school to middle school ages and they all have their charms. I like working with children because their enthusiasm and curiosity for the world keeps me inspired and enjoying what I do. I am a people person, so I love making a connection with the kids I work with, being a positive role model for them, and showing them kindness but limits when necessary. I like to have fun, do arts and crafts, sing songs (kids songs and I’m a fan of musicals and Disney!), tell riddles, play games, and see what the kids like to do because they always have some creative ideas!
