I’ve been a baby sitter all my life. Being the eldest of 4 children and my parents both working full time, I became my siblings’ main caretaker at a young age. I’ve never felt that as a burden, only a life skill that brought me to where I am today. While my professional work and education is focused on healthcare and health policy, I was never removed from the childcare industry. Since high school I’ve worked with my church in everything from daycare to bible study managing kids from age 1-5 in groups of 5-10. In college I spent a lot of time transporting sick kids in hospitals and reading and playing with them during their allotted play hours. Post graduation I volunteered to work with preadolescence girls with body image issues as a peer counselor, as well as continuing to baby sit as needed for my friends and families I’ve known since high school.
I have a CPR/AED certification, a certificate in child nutrition, and most importantly a love for kids.
