My name is Merlyn Tejada and I love hanging out with kids! I grew up in a large family and always enjoyed being around children. I started “formally” babysitting when I was in high school and then babysat and tutored all throughout my undergrad experience. A lot of my babysitting gigs came from my time spent as a camp counselor and I built my network through those moms. After I graduated from Columbia University I went into education policy work at the state level. I felt really removed from the work I was doing and babysitting helped me feel more connected. Even as an adult, I love getting to hang out with kids, coming up with fun ways to keep them entertained and helping them explore their interests. I enjoy arts and crafts, reading books, playing outside and I am not afraid to get dirty! :)
