Hi! I’m Michale, but you can call me Calle (pronounced kah-lee). I attend Columbia University where I hope to major in Creative Writing, and I love reading, theater, and traveling. I have been caring for children for a little over four years, and I’ve loved every minute of it. I value safety, accountability, and fun when caring for a child. I have a large extended family and have worked in a myriad of positions that have taught me how to be an effective and trustworthy caregiver as well as how to ensure that my kids are safe and enjoy themselves. At the Syracuse Jewish Community Center, I have served as a summer day camp counselor for two summers, but I also work in their school-age after-school program and their school vacation daycare. I was also a student teacher at a religious school for four years where I wrote and taught lessons to children aged 3 to 13. I have attended several full day professional education training seminars in special education, one-on-one teaching, and inclusion in the classroom back home in Syracuse, NY. Finally, I took part in 19hours of training in infant, toddler, and school age child care from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. I am so excited to meet your little ones!
