I have been babysitting for a little over three years now. Before I moved to New York for school, I spent almost every weekend babysitting and lots of weeknights. I also used to volunteer at my church’s daycare center during middle school, which is when I initially found out how much I enjoyed taking care of children. When I started high school, I found work through my church and my brother’s elementary school, which gave me the opportunity to work for several different families. I decided to start babysitting because my brother is 10 years younger than me and I spent a lot of time helping out my mother when he was born, and I learned to love working with children. I spend so much time around children and I have always felt that I have a natural talent with children, and that is both why I love being a caregiver as well as why I think I am good at it.
