I am a recent honors graduate from NYU who has 4 years of experience working as a teaching assistant and tutor in NYC public schools, with placements ranging from kindergarten to high school classrooms. As part of this role I have participated in and completed several trainings on child socio-emotional wellness, behavioral management strategies, and reinforcement of early literacy and numeracy skills. Outside of my work as a teaching assistant, I am proud to have been able to support a family and their two lovely kids as a regular babysitter for the past four years, starting when the kids were 4 & 6 years old. I love being a babysitter and working with children because it’s a joy to get to participate in the perspective of a child. They’re constantly learningthe everyday experiences of children are full of small, meaningful moments through which kids get to learn not just to facts about the world around them, but also how to experience and express emotions, explore their interests, and discovery who they are. In my role, I aim to support that growth with empathy, consistency, and kindness. I believe that every child deserves patience, unmitigated respect, and a safe space to be themselves. I am dedicated to listening actively, setting boundaries with intention, and encouraging curiosity as well as independence. I believe every interaction is an opportunity to model respect, nurture confidence, and help children feel seen and valued for who they are, and I take the opportunity to do so seriously. Prioritizing children’s safety is also of utmost importance to me, which is why I am fully vaccinated, CPR/first aid certified, and I have completed a NYCDOE-performed background check and fingerprint screening.
