Hi parents! Im Paola, 23, and Im a responsible, energetic, and patient Columbia graduate student from Spain. I grew up in the Canary Islands, where I started babysitting for my (five!) nieces and nephews from a young age. I have since worked over the summers taking care of 5-15 children from different nationalities and ages 3-10 at a hotels daycare, leading fun activities and games (so parents can relax in the sun!) In college, I also mentored refugee children on different subjects, like history, math, biology, etc. For a while, I also volunteered with special needs children here in New York, carrying out fun activities. Basically, I love children and their relentless curiosity and energy, and have learned that play, empathy and gentle boundaries and structure keep them happy and engaged and teach them how to relate positively to others and themselves. Finally, I am calm, professional, and reliable, as well as a great teacher, and can speak Spanish and German fluently.
