I attend New York University as a 3rd-Year Psychology major with a minor in Child and Adolescent Health. Growing up in a large family, I was often responsible for taking care of my younger cousins. From this point in my childhood, I have had a strong interest in caring for those younger than I, and being there as a supportive resource for them.
I am very much interested in the well being and healthy development of children, and ultimately intend to work professionally as a child psychologist. I often practice psychological and neurological research in scholastic clinics involving children; I am certified by the Institutional Review Board (IRB), the national administrative body overseeing academic research. Besides my academics, I have always been eager to spend time with children. I even created my own music school (in my teens)—Le Petite Ecole de Musique—in which I taught piano, voice, and guitar to kids of all ages. I enjoy spending time with children in all manner of activities, from playing catch outside to participating in an intellectual pastime indoors. My goal is always to provide exceptional care for children while at the same time striving to teach them something new and fulfilling, whether it be a musical instrument, sign language (I am proficient in ASL), or empathy for our fellow humans.
