Sharmin I.

Hello! My name is Sharmin. I was born and raised in NYC, and reside in Manhattan. Currently, I’m working part-time in luxury Property Management and looking for a part-time babysitting job.
A little about myself, I am the 2nd oldest amongst seven siblings. My love for babysitting started at a young age (as young as 11 ). Growing up, I cared for my siblings while both my parents worked. I made sure my siblings woke up for school, gave them breakfast, made sure they were dressed and ready and out the house in time to make it for school, helped them with homework, changed diapers and gave baths to the younger ones.
As I’ve gotten older, my love for babysitting grew even more, as now I have little nieces and nephews to care for! My sister and her husband often go away on vacation and leave me with their now 2 and half year old daughter. I’ve been caring for her since she was just 4 months, at least three times a month. I have a nonverbal niece that’s 6 and nephew that’s 14, both are autistic. I’m very patient with them, I know when my niece wants something, she tends to come to me more than my other siblings, as she feels the safest with me. I know it requires patience and understanding as if children with autism feel frustrated or misunderstood, they start stimming.
I’ve babysat many friends children to give the parents a much needed break, where their children ages ranged from 1-10 years old. I’ve been told by many that I have a gift when it comes to children, as children tend to gravitate towards me. God didn’t have children in my plans for me unfortunately, but I’m blessed to have many nieces and nephews to care for. I love reading mystery/horror or romcom books, cooking new recipes, going out to eat, traveling to new places, spending time with my family and friends, I love decorating for parties (another talent of mine), I tell myself I enjoy the gym (it’s a love/hate relationship), I enjoy painting and I love trying new activities to do. I would be the perfect candidate to babysit your child, as I have many years of experience with children. I love caregiving as seeing children happy and their parents getting a break from being parents brings me joy. My parents didn’t have that as much, getting a break for themselves , as they had to work to make ends meet, so it’s refreshing to see adults now catching a break from being parents and trusting someone with their child so they can briefly focus on other important things they want to focus on.
