Hello! My name is Adriane and I am a 19-year-old third-year pre-law student transferring to a university in the area. My childcare experience began when I was very young, as I had a close hand in raising my little brother. Throughout middle school, I babysat some younger children in the neighborhood. They were toddlers and young elementary school children. Once I reached high school, I began to focus on more academic endeavors.

Despite this, I still found time to volunteer at the local elementary school. They had an after-school program entitled Save the Children. The program was directed at any child whose parents wanted them to stay after school, but much of our work was with students between kindergarten and second grade who required a little more attention when it came to things such as reading comprehension and their work with numbers. After an hour and a half of studying (having them read to me, singing numbers), we would take a half an hour to do some physical activities in the form of games, just to get the last bit of their energy out before releasing them back their parents or guardians. When the program was shut down due to lack of funding, I was very dissappointed that our good work would not go on. I am still involved with the program internationally, as I sponsor three children.

I am a firm believer in nurturing creativity and curiousity. I have spent the last two years being a tutor at my university, and have only expanded my patience and understanding for the way in which people learn. Nothing fills me with more joy than helping someone reach closer to mastering a skill or concept, no matter how long it takes. I am dedicated and would be willing to work with most anything that the families need. I am very adaptable and willing to start right away.
