Hello parents! I have just moved to Philadelphia after spending a year with my wonderful nanny family in Charleston, SC and I’m looking for a similar temp role. In my previous position, I cared for five children ages 2, 5, 6, 9 and 11, with two being on the autism spectrum. Having a background in psychology and clinical experience working with kiddos on the spectrum, I was able to apply my knowledge to this role and develop my skillset tremendously, learning newfound patience, adaptability and compassion. I mainly worked with the kids on emotional regulation and social skills, language development, spatial awareness and targeting maladaptive behaviors through visual aids and other therapeutic techniques. Additional responsibilities included driving the kids to school/extracurriculars and occupational/speech therapies, where I collaborated extensively with their support team. I became incredibly close with the kids as well as the parents, even accompanying them on a trip out of the country. I am looking for a similar position, where I can really connect with a family as more than just an employee and stick around as a consistent caregiver. I consider myself incredibly organized and clean, and I am open to household management positions. Additionally, I have experience with little ones from around 8-24 months and about 10 years of experience with neurotypical kids :-) I’ll be starting my masters in Marriage & Family Therapy in the fall, so I will only be needing a 3 month full time position, but would ideally like to continue with the same family and dial back to part time in the fall.
