As the oldest of four girls, I’ve been providing care and companionship to my sisters almost my entire life. I have a decade of paid experience as I began babysitting after being certified through the local 4-H at age 12. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of serving many families as a nanny, occasional sitter, pet care provider, and tutor. I’ve cared for children of all ages and unique needs, I’m comfortable with all animals, and I have experience providing medical care in both routine and emergency situations. I am CPR/AED certified, have my own reliable transportation, and my motto is “be prepared.” Following this mantra allows me to be a fun, safe, and creative caregiver who can find excitement and educational value in all sorts of experiences. I enjoy excursions with my charges, whether to a park, a museum, a special event, or something as mundane as a grocery store. I am bilingual and currently studying for my Masters of Arts at WCU in German language and culture. In this discipline, I’ve learned a lot about language acquisition and instruction that I apply when working with children. When babysitting, I like to share my interest in history, culture, science, literature, and languages through stories, songs, experiments, crafts, imaginative play, and more. I’m looking for occasional or regular opportunities so that I can continue to support myself as a graduate student.
