Hello! I’m Vanessa. I am a 23-year-old full-time nursing student searching for a part-time babysitting job that can fit well with my schedule. I am the second out of five children and I share significant age differences with my younger siblings. Due to this age difference, I have spent a lot of time caring for my younger siblings as well as helping to raise them. I am naturally nurturing and always willing to go the extra mile for people. I love being around children and I am always able to find ways to keep them interested, active, and engaged regardless of the environment. I have a great love for geography (especially American Geography), learning different languages, and educating myself about different cultures and customs of the world. Although not fluent, I have a good command of the Spanish language and understand Portuguese at a basic/beginner level. I studied these two languages during my undergraduate years, so babysitting for a family that speaks either language would be wonderful as I would love to improve my speaking skills. I love reading in my spare time and enjoy reading to and with children.

I am very patient, open-minded, and always looking for ways to improve. I also seek constructive criticism and am always more than happy to correct myself when I have done something wrong. I think this is a very important trait to have as a sitter or engaging in any sort of child care. The opinions and feelings of children are just as valid and worthy of listening to.
