I love being a babysitter because I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and helping them learn, grow, and have fun in a safe and caring environment. Every child is unique, and I find it rewarding to connect with them, understand their personalities, and be someone they can trust and feel comfortable with. Babysitting allows me to combine my nurturing nature with my passion for child development.
Experience I Have
Ive had several valuable experiences that have shaped my love for working with kids:
- In 2021, I babysat for a family friend, caring for two boys, ages 12 and 7. That experience taught me how to balance the needs of different age groups and keep both engaged with age-appropriate activities.
- I worked at the YMCA summer camp for two years with 8- to 9-year-olds, leading group activities, supervising play, and helping children build social skills and confidence.
- I also worked at The Goddard School in both the infant and toddler rooms. There, I gained hands-on experience with the youngest age groups, learning how to meet developmental needs, follow routines, and create a safe, nurturing space for infants and toddlers.
Skills and Training I Have
Through these roles, Ive developed strong skills in:
- Child supervision and safety
- Age-appropriate activity planning
- Diapering, feeding, and nap routines
- Behavior management and conflict resolution
- Communication with parents and team members
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability
In addition to my practical experience, working in licensed childcare centers has also exposed me to structured training in health, safety, and early childhood development.
