Full summary:

Im a graduate student new to Pittsburgh, studying Human Computer Interaction. Im originally from the Bay Area where Ive lived for the past few years while working as a lead program manager at Google/Waymo. Ive lived for varying amounts of time in Arizona, DC, Sierra Leone, and Seoul.

During high school and undergrad, I worked as a babysitter and SAT tutor for kids age 4-14 for 3 years. In undergrad, I worked at the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) at UCSD as an assistant teacher for three years, where I worked with children 3 months to 6 years as an assistant teacher while taking classes on Child Development. These young children are my favorite age; their imaginations are blossoming and theyre learning at such a rapid pace. Upon getting my bachelors, I provided behavioral therapy for kids with autism age 3-21 for one year, where my greatest accomplishment was supporting a non-verbal toddler to say “mom”. My most challenging professional experience was as a long term substitute for 5 months for middle and high schools in San Jose. Teaching a full class of 30 students algebra is a daunting task; I have endless respect and admiration for our teachers. I have also provided semi-regular babysitting on weekends for parents & children from the UCSD Early Childhood Education Center over the course of three years.
