St. Francis Xavier Head Start provides a valuable resource to preschoolers and their families in our targeted community by providing services to develop the whole child. We provide state of the art educational programs, promote health services, emphasize proper nutrition as well as educate and assist parents in ways that promote the development of the child in a successful life-long learner

Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

Special Needs:
Head Start helps all children succeed. Services are offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities. Most children in Head Start are between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. Services are also available to infants and toddlers in selected sites.
Hours of Operation:
Monday to Friday 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
