We are proud participants in the Virginia Star Quality Initiative Program – a quality rating and improvement system that assesses, communicates, and supports quality in early childhood settings.

The YMCA is the nation’s largest provider of childcare. YMCAs provide family-centered, values-based programs to nurture children’s healthy development.

Here at the Piedmont Family YMCA, our childcare program provides children with real experiences and exposure through a proven learning process. Our licensed, developmentally appropriate program is a self-initiated, hands-on discovery environment that allows children to explore and discover while thinking independently and solving problems.

Our child-centered programming develops imagination, encourages learning and promotes life skills and values; essential building blocks in becoming healhty, happy adults. Classrooms consist of mixed-ages where children particpate in multi-sensory curriculum designed to further their overall development, self-esteem and continued growth of social skills. The Piedmont Family YMCA developmental approach provides children with positive experiences, support and opportunities they need.
