For working families after school programs are a necessity. At The Learning Lamp we offer a safe and engaging environment for students while helping families balance the demands of home and work.
The most popular feature of our program is a full hour of homework help supervised by certified teachers. In many cases its enough time for a child to complete homework so its not a burden on families in the evening.
Physical activities a healthy snack arts and crafts and free play are also a part of our daily schedule. Our goal is to offer families structured and convenient care that is focused on the needs of their children.

At The Learning Lamp we believe children should have an engaging and happy experience during after school hours. Quality teachers and curriculum are key to creating a positive environment.
Our child care staff chose a career in child care or education because they enjoy working with children. They typically hold 2- or 4-year degrees in child development or education or are studying to be teachers. That translates into a better atmosphere for kids.
One major difference in our after school programs is a daily structured homework help session supervised by certified teachers. We also offer planned activities that appeal to children with varied interests.
In addition our programs include a healthy snack arts and crafts and a physical activity component based on the acclaimed Sports Play and Active Recreation for Kids (SPARK) curriculum. Supported by Highmark this curriculum features games and sports designed to encourage children of all abilities to participate.
