Welcome to the Early Childhood Program at Temple Israel. In the warm and nurturing environment of our ECP teachers provide developmental enrichment for preschoolers of all ages from 4 months to 4 years. Our goal is to equip your child with the self-confidence to explore all that he or she questions about the world. Here each child is encouraged to pursue a path of discovery which will make the process of learning a rewarding and exciting one. This is where your childs introduction to schooling can reveal the joys of learning and set the course for a lifetime of intellectual pursuit creativity and critical thinking. We invite you to review our extensive array of program selections ranging from classes for very young children to enjoy along with parents or caregivers to classroom experiences and a June Mini-Camp for children ages two through four. We offer flexible scheduling with options of class days time of drop-off and pick-up and programming. Temple Israels Early Childhood Program promotes the development of young children from 4 months to 4 years of age in a nurturing and stimulating play-based program that encourages creativity decision-making and problem-solving skills spiritual growth and a joy of learning. Age-appropriate activities challenge each child to develop to his or her social emotional intellectual and physical potential. Using nonjudgmental and accepting tones teachers here are emotionally responsive to children so that they in turn will be more receptive to learning. The ever-changing emergent curriculum encourages children to delve into questions as they arise thereby teaching them the merits of always satisfying their intellectual curiosity. In fully exploring topics of relevance to them learning through imaginative play and expressing themselves through a variety of activities children emerge from this program with strong foundations of independence and self-esteem that are critical to their ongoing personal and academic development.

With small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratios individualized attention can be given to each child and family in our ECP. At Temple Israel we understand that each child progresses at his or her own rate in all aspects of learning and are there to encourage each step along your childs path. As toilet training is a developmental process our 2s and 3s teachers change childrens diapers. Social interaction emotional support and intellectual stimulation are provided at all levels. The children begin word recognition as early as the 3s and continue with Kindergarten Readiness in the 4s. The educational program offered by Temple Israels ECP serves as a developmental scaffolding from one stage to the next as each child reaches for new experiences and discoveries.
