Saint James Nursery School

St. James Nursery School strives to provide a quality preschool education for the
children of our church and our community. We want your child to know that
school is a good, safe place to be. When the boys and girls enter our
classrooms, they will find new activities and projects waiting for them and
teachers ready to help and care for their needs.
We offer classes for threes through PreK Monday through Friday, from
September until the end of May. For twos, there is a parent-child program called
Little Stars which meets once a week.
Play with a Purpose best describes our program. We want St. James to be a
fun environment as well as one that is educationally stimulating. We work to
develop the whole child in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Our staff carefully plans lessons to provide opportunities to:
? Grow socially
? Build confidence and self-esteem
? Learn to cooperate
? Learn to communicate feelings, ideas
? Improve language and mathematical skills
? Use various artistic mediums
? Achieve competence in fine and gross motor areas
Some special features of our school include:
? Small class sizes
? Large gymnasium for daily physical activity
? Monthly newsletter and curriculum calendar for
parents
? Daily contact with parents as well as two reporting
periods per year
? Writing program, Handwriting without Tears, for our
older students
? Age-appropriate holiday celebrations and special
events
? Two concerts/shows presented by the children for
their families
