Kids in Discovery Preschool was established in the Fall of 1992.
We are licensed by the State of Virginia. We offer 2-day, 3-day, 4-day, and 5-day classes. Our classes meet from 9:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m We offer an Early Morning Drop-Off Program beginning at 8:30 a.m. All of our staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid, and all participate in continuing education. We follow Henrico County Public Schools calendar. We have an Extended Day Program. (Lunch Bunch- 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.) We offer Enrichment Thursdays from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. We have an extensive library and a librarian who visits with our students each week. Our Pre-K students check out library books every week. We have weekly “Special Moments”. We have a robust music program in which our students learn about music through movement, dancing, singing, and using manipulatives like rhythm sticks and beanbags, and through the playing of various musical instruments. We have an amazing playground that our students LOVE!- Child Ages:

Kids in Discovery Preschool is a preschool program serving children from the
age of 2 through 6 years of age. We are a child oriented program with
activities that will prepare your child for kindergarten, while incorporating basic
Christian values.
It is the philosophy of Kids in Discovery Preschool that early childhood should
be a time of exploring and discovery. Preschool children are creative and
receptive. The staff strives to nurture and encourage these qualities in the
children who attend. We understand the importance of educational
programming for preschool children that develops the physical, emotional,
social, and spiritual needs of the child.
We want children to experience learning at this precious time of life in an
atmosphere full of encouragement and filled with stimulation and imagination.
We offer a balanced curriculum of play, creative art, music, outdoor play,
conversation, story time, experimentation, dramatic play and group activities.
Kids in Discovery recognizes that each child is an individual with unique talents.
It is our goal to include all children in our program regardless of sex, race,
religion or disability.
Discovery United Methodist Church recognizes the need for families in our
community to enjoy a preschool experience in a reliable, safe, and healthy
