We focus on language motor skills creativity discovery and curiosity dramatics reading and music. Age appropriate toys games and activities facilitate learning. We consider the most useful and effective toys and materials for learning while always having fun.
By creating a stimulating environment with a wide range of activities from which your child can choose we foster the development of individuality guided by your child’s own interests selections and learning. Each classroom offers four “work station” areas: art pretending (play) reading and exploring (science).
Socialization and team behavior is also encouraged through classroom activities and teacher-directed group times. Opportunities for more formal socialization for your child are created while ensuring that fundamental skills are learned. Some of the beginning social rules mastered at Ivy League Academy are sharing taking turns helping others listening to teachers following directions respecting the belongings of others and keeping hands to ourselves.
Age and developmental readiness are the primary determiners for your child’s placement within the center. As your child grows matures and develops he or she will move to the next developmentally appropriate area.
