Our primary focus is to enhance our children with the educational and social skills needed to enter the public school system. We give
each child the individual attention and understanding that will enable their achievement to the greatest extent of their capability. Our
parents can rest assured that their child will thrive in a constructive well-balanced program grounded in Christian principals that is
administered in a warm and friendly environment.

Children including infants are curious thinkers skilled researchers and successful problem solvers. Our program caters to
children’s needs and stimulates their creativity. At DIDC we use the Creative Curriculum format and the Open Court Curriculum as
well as a variety of other resources to develop age-appropriate programs. All materials and activities are developmentally appropriate
and will help children in the these areas:
Social and Emotional Development – Students are provided many opportunities daily to work and play in groups
Reading and Math Readiness – Beginning in our Two Year Old class students are taught the alphabet and numbers through songs
stories and art activities. Our Preschool class includes activities to develop visual and auditory skills including size discrimination
and shape
Language Development – Through creative expression story telling and “Show and Share” group discussions
Motor Development – Students are encouraged to coordinate body movements and large muscle control through outdoor play and
indoor games; additional small muscle control occurs through frequent use of puzzles clay finger paints and cutting/pasting
activities
Fine Arts – Students express themselves creatively through free drawing coloring and painting; as well as music (consisting of
small and large singing groups) and experimenting with rhythm instruments and movement exercises
