Welcome to Childcare Network in Matthews, where we pride ourselves on not being a daycare, but a quality and educational preschool. My name is Ashley Washing and I am the school Director. I hold my Bachelors degree in Psychology and I started working in the child care industry in 2007 as a teacher. Over the years, I gained the experience required and stepped up to school Director in February 2015.
Children enrolled in our programs are excited about learning! While we know that literacy skills are important in the early learning environment, we don’t want to lose sight of math and science skills either. We want to send our boys and girls to kindergarten empowered to not only read and write, but to investigate, wonder, and experiment. We incorporate these ideas into each classroom, including our NC Pre-K classroom. The NC Pre-K classroom is a separately funded, free preschool program. Our specialized Kindergarten Prep Academy mirrors the NC Pre-K classroom. Both programs use a high quality curriculum and hands on activities to prepare the next wave of kindergartners for their elementary school experience. While we are not a tutorial program, the learning doesn’t stop with our pre-k classes. Our Adventure Summer Camp balances fun and learning with educational field trips and activities. These exercise the mind and body for our older school-age children. We’ve got plans that include summer book clubs, art projects, continued learning projects, and field trips to the zoo, Discovery Place, and local parks. Our Daughter was at CCN from 4m till graduation of the 4 year old class.... she is now in Kindergarten. She loved it and all the teachers. We are pregnant with our second child and have already enrolled him in the infant class.
