The Montessori Educational Method and Philosophy was created in the early 1900 by Italian physician Dr. Maria Montessori.

She believed that education should develop a child’s intellectual skills and nurture their innate desire to acquire knowledge through self-discovery.

In a Montessori classroom children work within a prepared environment filled with stimulating materials for learning. This setting develops a child’s potential by teaching the young child through their natural interests.

As such children are free to choose their work learn to make decisions work at their own pace and mistakes are treated as learning opportunities. A Montessori environment fosters the development of positive attitude because the child is treated as an individual.
