Accreditation: Effective July 31 2005 RTGCDC earned 5-year accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC accreditation is a mark of quality. It helps create stronger programs for young children and tells families that the center is striving “to do it right.” Standards are established in 10 areas including 400 criteria: Positive relationships; curriculum; teaching approaches and strategies; assessment; nutrition and health; qualified teaching staff; relationships with families; physical environments; sound management and service.

NAEYC is the largest and most influential organization of early childhood educators and others dedicated to improving the quality of programs for children birth through age 5.

RTGCDC is participating and has achieved a 4-STAR rating in Keytone STARS. Keystone STARS is Pennsylvanias voluntary program for improving the quality of child care. Each STAR designation has its own research-based performance standards in the areas of staff education the learning environment and administration.

Staff: Our professional staff of caring and nurturing teachers have completed formal education levels from high school through graduate school. Their experience working and playing with children ranges from 2 to more than 40 years. All caregivers are required to complete 24 hours of professional training and learning each year. The richness and breadth of experiences both professional and life of our caregivers/teachers enhances the childrens daily learning and development while in the Center.
