Ohev Shaloms outstanding pre-school program is housed in a state of the art educational facility staffed with mature dedicated teachers. Our goal is to create compassionate intellectually aware human beings through both child-oriented and teacher-directed instruction. A variety of class schedules are offered along with Early Care and Late Care Programs that accommodate the needs of working parents. In addition our school regularly schedules special programs including Creative Movement Music Hebrew Wonderful Wednesdays weekly Shabbat celebrations and Jewish holiday presentations.

Our curriculum includes the basics such as colors and shapes science pre-reading and math skills. Literature phonics and whole language experiences are incorporated into the program as well as counting matching and sorting skills. Jewish values and traditions are presented in each classroom including themes of kindness respect and mitzvot. Both American and Jewish holidays are celebrated.
The teachers utilize a variety of approaches to each theme in an attempt to facilitate skills and knowledge. Dramatic play learning centers art projects cooking projects music movement story-telling books and puppetry are utilized with success. Communication and social skills are of primary importance so children are provided with opportunities to work in large groups and small groups as well as individually.
