Preschool in Towaco, NJ 07082

Welcome to The Goddard School located in beautiful Montville, New Jersey!

I am Maria Bondoc, the on-site owner. I am dedicated to providing a safe and loving school with the highest quality education for your child. The Goddard School located in Montville can be found on the quiet corner of Jacksonville and Main Roads (Route 202 becomes Main Road) about one half mile past the Towaco Train Station. It is a private preschool caring for children from 6 weeks of age to 6 years old. We are open year round, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. We also have a fun-filled Summer Program for children up to 8 years of age. We have two playgrounds dedicated to the younger and older children. Our fabulously sized playgrounds are equipped with modern rubberized surfacing and Astroturf that helps in promoting a safe and clean outside area.

We love the natural curiosity of children to explore and investigate their surroundings. Their inquisitiveness seems to become greater with each new discovery. Here at The Goddard School, we take advantage of this golden opportunity to build trust and promote a positive learning experience. By providing children with innovative and interesting activities, we are able to present optimum learning conditions which are most advantageous at their age. While maintaining the highest levels of academic stimulation, we never lose sight of the fact that they are young learners and need to feel comfortable and confident in their environment. As early childhood educators, we recognize the need to find a happy medium of comfort between home and school. It is our commitment and objective to instill a life-long love of learning in all of our students by emphasizing Piagets methodology of learning through play.

The Goddard School provides a warm, loving ambiance and features an extended-day program intended to foster your childs emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development. Our schools teaching professionals are well-educated, experienced, and certified in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or have a Child Development Associate (CDA). All of our staff members are also trained in CPR/First Aid. Our faculty believes in promoting a safe, comfortable, and positive learning environment for all children, as well as maintaining an open channel of communication with the parents. The Goddard School system has a high quality pre-school curriculum and developmental goals. Those proven and time tested methods have shown brilliant and positive results. We also place an emphasis on our array of enrichment programs:

Building Language for Literacy: Equips children with the skills and experiences they need to build a foundation for success in language arts. Foreign Language (Explorer program by Trampoline): Introduces children to the Spanish language and culture. Time to Sign, Inc.: Introduces children to American Sign Language, a manual form of communication where sign mimics experiences with ideas and objects. Handwriting Without Tears: Introduces children to an innovative way of learning the basics of handwriting through a series of educational materials. KidScientific: A complete science based curriculum designed specifically for use in Goddard Schools. This program introduces children to the natural world around them and the wonders of science. It guides children through age-appropriate scientific methods and unravels mysteries through problem solving activities in the areas of Life Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science.

We have additions to our school and curriculum that have generated excitement and enthusiasm from our students.

Childrens Progress Academic Assessment (CPAA): An early childhood assessment system that helps teachers focus classroom instruction to achieve the greatest learning gains for each child. Smart Table: This interactive computerized table will exclusively be used in our Toddler, Get Set, and Preschool classrooms. This novel piece of technology is the forerunner to Smart Board technology in our school. Smart Board: This interactive whiteboard is an innovative and revolutionary teaching tool designed to bring learning to new technological levels and helps to create extraordinary moments for children. One can be found in each of our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms.

We are also enthused to recommend some of our extracurricular activities to complement our program in developing the total self of the young child:

Dance: A unique dance and performance program for boys and girls. The once a week class is a combination of modified tap and jazz for boys; the girls class consists of ballet, tap and jazz. Soccer: Children learn the fundamentals of soccer from professional soccer trainers. Computer: Classes use technology to reinforce academic skills to strengthen readiness skills in math, reading, science and other subject areas. Music: Classes include age-appropriate understanding of rhythmic phrases, solo singing, lots of movement, introduction to musical theater and instrumental play. Karate: The children are taught the fundamentals of the importance of developing a strong karate body through exercises that address balance, body strength, and body hand-eye coordination. The program also aims to empower and teach essential life skills, such as confidence, respect, self-control, team work, and selflessness. Gardening: A gardening enrichment program designed to make learning about the environment and maintaining a healthy balance between nature and the individual fun and interesting Gymnasium-on-Wheels: We also have weekly visits from a full-sized school bus converted into a safe and fun gymnasium. The goal is to raise your childs self-esteem and teach gymnastics and fitness in a safe, fun environment.
