Edgewood Preprimary Academy has advocated a balanced early learning program throughout 50 years of providing excellence in Education. We admit children between the ages of 2 and 6 years for our pre-primary and kindergarten programs.
The original school was opened in the fall of 1959, on Grand Avenue, in Santa Ana. In 1969, Mrs Krull purchased the small school of 91 students, pre-primary through grade 5. In 1971, Mrs. Krull built and opened a second campus on Newport Avenue in Tustin, for grades K-8. Under Mrs. Krull’s direction, Edgewood grew to accommodate over 600 students in pre-primary through grade 8. We gained a far-reaching reputation for superior education, and received accreditation through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. In March of 1998, Mrs. Krull sold Edgewood Private School (the elementary portion) to Fairmont Private Schools. She retains and continues to direct the Edgewood PrePrimary Academy, which consists of preprimary and kindergarten. Edgewood PrePrimary Academy is now beginning our second 50 years of continuing a “Quest for Excellence” in early childhood education.- Child Ages:

We support the uniqueness of each child and his/her developmental growth. Our concern is with each child in all growth areas, social-emotional, cognitive, perceptual, and physical. We remain constantly aware that a child’s development in each area of growth interacts with and depends on development in all other growth areas. Our staff is trained to recognize the importance of this interaction and to integrate this into each area of our program. We are particularly aware of developmental differences in between child, and provide for the individual child’s needs in our curriculum.Each child’s experience background determines the starting point when he/she arrives at Edgewood PrePrimary Academy. Our curriculum is developed on a continuum which allows each child to progress at a personal pace. Each classroom is arranged to provide for abundant experimentation and discovery on the part of the young child. This independence is tempered and protected by our observant staff. Attitudes formed in early life are, for the most part, retained throughout life. at Edgewood PrePrimary Academy, we consider development of a positive self-concept prerequisite to learning. We provide experiences and relationships which will help to build a wholesome emotional framework for each child’s lifetime.
