Math and Science Tutor for Middle and High School Students

Hi! My name is Eric, and my love of teaching comes from the happiness that I get when I am able to push myself and my students to improve and achieve our full potential. I love to see my students grow and thrive.

I just received my B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Rice University in Houston and am currently working towards my M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at USC.

I graduated on the Presidents Honor Roll and I have always excelled in my courses. I received the AP Scholar …

Nancy H. from Sugar Land, TX Eric had a very difficult task in my high school son who had been extremely reluctant to accept the help of a tutor to get caught up on his homework. Eric took the time to understand the situation from me & then contacted my son on his own to empathize, encourage him & build a rapport. I feel no other tutor would have done that. And it worked - he got my son to attend the 1st session which I had despaired of - I wasn't going to force him. In fact, I told him point blank, "He doesn't want to go," & cancelled our 1st session. But Eric seemed to understand what he was going through & his call took him from "No it's a waste of time & money" to "He's cool, ok, I'll try it". From there Eric worked to maintain a rapport w/ him in person - besides working on the algebra. Eric has continued to respond to my feedback & requests & has made continuing efforts to keep my son motivated & GOING - main thing - so he will get & stay caught up. My son has gone from "I do not want or need a tutor" to "yes, I'll take one - it's a help" with Eric. As to the algebra itself my son says he is great with the subject matter & works efficiently with him to get the homework done & makes it interesting - he proposes algebra riddles to my son that he enjoys trying to solve & they have other interesting discussions about many topics to keep it from being boring. I am very grateful as I feel no one else could have overcome this mountain of resistance. He was quite intuitive in that regard.

Tonja W. from Houston, TX Eric was a perfect fit for our son. He was patient, kind and encouraging to him. Just what he needed at a time when he has been struggling with his home-school work. He made smart look really fun and cool and inspired our son to want to do more. Our son struggles with focus, but Eric found a way to keep him on track and help him progress from moving at a snails pace to really picking up steam and gaining some self confidence along the way. We are super grateful that we got to work with this special tutor prior to his graduation and relocation. Wishing him all the best in all that he does!
