Jill H. from Cherry Hill, NJ Ira is consistently patient and has been able to connect with my son more than any other tutor. My son likes that Ira wants to teach him, rather then just go over homework or stress about tests. Ira cares and wants his students to succeed.

Jennifer S. from Vincentown, NJ My daughter has been able to increase her precalculus grade, as well as her level of confidence over this past month thanks in large measure to her tutoring experiences with Ira. Needless to say, going from a C to an A is a fantastic result! We could not be happier with the tutoring experience.

Jen S. from Medford, NJ I am currently a graduate student and needed to pass the Math Praxis exam to become highly qualified. I had already taken the test two times and was unsuccessful. Ira was able to provide me with the tools needed to pass the test. He is very patient and was always available! I highly recommend him.

Deborra T. from Vincentown, NJ My son was able to get a "B" in math this marking period (up from a C) and he subsequently made the honor roll!! Math seems to have always held him back from this and thanks to Ira, we're on the upswing!

Ted C. from Voorhees, NJ I am preparing for GMATs and had a very specific agenda to focus on. Ira had a very good grasp of my goals and I think he did a great job of preparing me going forward. Very patient and he cares, not a clock watcher, will spend the extra few minutes to make sure his points are well understood. Would I recommend him? YEP!

Danielle D. from Collingswood, NJ Ira was great at helping me understand the concepts of statistics. With his help I managed to get an A! I do understand the concepts of statistics better thanks to his help.

Heather R. from Haddonfield, NJ My 13 yr old daughter has struggled this year in Advanced Algebra. She started seeing Ira and I saw immediate improvement in her test grades. He has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to take what she is learning in class and explain it to her in a way she can comprehend. Ira has identified her lack of neatness and tendency to rush through answers as part of her problem and has encouraged her to be neat and write out all her work. She expresses relief after seeing him and having him clarify concepts for him, which is especially beneficial to her before tests. Many thanks to Ira for making a difference in my daughter's experience with Algebra!

Michael G. from Mantua, NJ Understands the concepts and helps with giving you a great foundation. If you don't know or unsure about concepts, Ira will break it down so you can grasp the ideal and build from there!

Vern W. from Philadelphia, PA I enjoyed my study sessions with Ira. I was not really excited about taking Stats, but with Ira help I was able to get the grade I was looking for. He was more then willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. We had a few sessions on the phone and he was easy to reach! I recommend him to any student that may have a struggle with Stats!

Carla B. from Oaklyn, NJ Keeps me on my toes! I learn something new each time. Can explain statistics very clearly. I would like for him to tutor me for the rest of the Semester. Thank you.

Sue S. from Marlton, NJ Ira is a very patient man willing to help you in any way math related. He took the time to go over the simple terms to get me through the hard problems. He also showed me that reading the problem is very important. Not understanding words can get you confused and off task from solving a question. Ira really spent time with me to make sure I understood the process of each problem. The answer doesn't matter he said, understanding the process and choosing the best answer is important. After four sessions, I went from scoring poor to excellent on my ASVAB military math test. I would highly recommend Ira for tutoring help.

Lisa A. from Hainesport, NJ We are very happy with the end result after working with Ira for 4 weeks. Ira had patience and was able to explain clearly the areas that were difficult for our son. Ira was willing to work with our schedule and he is a great communicator, returning calls and emails in a timely fashion. The end result was a 100 point increase in our son's final SAT score!! Would recommend Ira to any one who is looking to improve their SAT scores.

Amanda B. from Westville, NJ Very easygoing, funny, and helpful in math! Ira was very patient and made sure I understood everything from previous sessions before we started our new session and then he checked for understanding during each problem.

Jim K. from Philadelphia, PA Searched Wyzant for a tutor for ASVAB (U.S. military entry testing) and found Ira. We were looking to improve our son's scores for the math portion of the test which is a significant part of it. Don't know if it was a stroke of luck because Ira turned out to be an excellent tutor for our son. He quickly identified key areas where he was weak and helped him to improve his score. Ira made it very easy for tutoring by meeting at a nearby location for our son's sessions. Ira quickly returned all messages and provided a detailed summary of the tutoring session to the parents for review. We would highly recommend Ira as an ASVAB tutor.

Lisa P. from Vincentown, NJ My son has struggled with Algebra since high school. He was required to take a prerequisite Algebra course because of low College admission test scores. He worked with tutors from the local Learning Centers in our area on a weekly basis as well as tutors from school, but failed this course TWICE with very low scores. This has held him up from moving on to get his degree. FINALLY WE FOUND IRA. He is a true professional, and an excellent teacher/tutor. My son went from not doing well to 95?s on his tests. He has finally passed this course and has a true understanding of the subject. Ira is very accommodating with his scheduling, and my son really liked him very much. I cannot say enough about this man and his ability to get through the wall that my son had up when it came to Algebra. Thanks to Ira my son is moving on to get his degree. Next he will be working with Ira on Statistics, and my son feels confident going into that course. THANK YOU IRA!!

Mark M. from Palmyra, NJ This tutor has been a real blessing for me. I have always struggled with math and just thought it was all made up garbage but Ira has been able to relate each concept to real life application and examples for me making it into something that I actually understand. I feel confident in class now to the point where I actually volunteer to do problems on the board in front of everyone instead of hiding in the back hoping I would make it through a class unnoticed and without feeling embarrassed of not understanding what everyone else got so easily. Best Math tutor I have ever had the pleasure of working with.

Janice T. from Philadelphia, PA I wanted a tutor who could teach me the principles and concepts in quantitative analysis. Anyone can memorize a formula but understanding what you are doing is important to me. Ira was a good fit for this because he was able to break it down into small parts that were understandable. His notes were helpful for me to study for our midterm exam. I'll see how it goes this week in class and most likely I'll need him again. I definitely recommend Ira for teaching statistics and statistical analysis.

Robert M. from Newtown, PA Ira is a great tutor, with him you feel confident you will do very well. I recommend him indeed. He walked the extra mile to help me with statistics. He is very responsive to every question I have.

Nancy R. from Stratford, NJ I am an adult who returned back to college after 20 years. I was in a bind getting ready to take a midterm and decided to look for a tutor. Ira contacted me within a few hours of my post and made time to tutor me on the very same day and has been working patiently with me to catch me up on the material I should know. Patient and caring tutor. Makes sure you understand the reason behind your math work not just how to do the work. Would definitely recommend.

Scott W. from Moorestown, NJ The job of a tutor is not simply to present the material; rather it is to ensure that the pupil understands and can apply the lesson learned. This requires that the tutor be able to match his method of teaching and explanation to match the individual student's needs. I'm thrilled to say that Ira was able to do this with great skill. Though our daughter had fairly good mastery of many concepts on the SAT Math, she was often missing the "tricks." Ira was able to cut through her basic level of understanding and bring her to the next level. After she completed her first practice test, Ira confidently predicted that he could likely get her score to a 700. This is exactly what she scored on her first attempt. With regard to his work, Ira has been very professional and understands what it means to provide good service. He is extremely prompt at returning calls, emails or texts. We have never had an issue scheduling him, as he was always able to accommodate us. We never felt as if our daughter was rushed; he always took more time than the actual hour allotted and would ensure that she understood what was covered during each session. Ira often used humor to liven up what could otherwise be a tedious process; our daughter actually ENJOYS the sessions with him. At the same time, he could be quite serious, often unrelenting when trying to ensure that a concept was definitely grasped. We were so happy with him that we have continued to use his services as a math tutor for our daughter in Pre-Calc, as well as with our younger daughter in algebra. We would not hesitate to recommend him for any math tutoring. He is an excellent tutor. We are so happy we found him.

Danielle D. from Blackwood, NJ We are very happy we found Ira. He's amazing! My son is actually understanding Algebra! We look forward to many more sessions! Definitely a winner!

April R. from Cherry Hill, NJ Ira was so helpful to my son this past school year. The first nine weeks of the Fall 2013, he had an "F" in "Intro to Functions." He was very discouraged and had no confidence that he could master the material. We started looking for tutors on WyzAnt and thought that Ira would match well. We met him and he was great and connected with my son and us immediately. We continued to seek help sometimes once per week, sometimes up to three times per week. We knew that he (my son), had to have a breakthrough and Ira kept telling us that he would get it, that he just needed confidence. The second and third nine weeks our son got a "B" in math. A huge improvement. When we met with the guidance counselor, she said, "Looks like something began to change in late October." I said that's when we met Ira!! The last nine week of school, we didn't have to meet but twice. Ira did email and check up on him and truly cared how he was progressing. He would email us the day of the test or the next day to ask how it went. It's not about "work" to Ira. Once I called him in a panic on a Wednesday morning because my son wasn't getting the math and he had a test the next day, and Ira met us at 8:30 pm that night. My son ended up getting it and doing well. At my son's eighth grade graduation, he got his report card. The grade for the last nine weeks was an "A." As soon as we got into the car, I called Ira giggling because his overall average was a "B." I think that both my son and Ira worked hard for that grade. LOL. They really did. There were days that were hard, but they worked through the problems and worked very well together. My son has said many times he is so glad we met Ira. I highly recommend Ira. You may not see results immediately because sometimes there are barriers such as self-esteem or confidence or intimidation by the material or other obstacles that may not seem as obvious. But with Ira, you or your child can absolutely attain success. Mine did. Thanks, Ira!

Diane M. from Beverly, NJ My review of Ira is that he is very patient. He makes sure that you understand the material he is teaching clearly, before he moves on with new material. He is big on making sure you understand "the why" of what you are doing, which is exactly what I wanted in a tutor. I highly recommend him if you need help in statistics. I love his sense of humor which helped to ease my nervousness about learning statistics. With hard work on my part and help from Ira, I believe I will be able to pass my statistic class with a minimum grade of a "C".

MaryAnn R. from Medford, NJ Finding a suitable and knowledgeable tutor on WyzAnt was very easy. I immediately was drawn to Ira who not only resides in a nearby community in which I live, making my meeting location very convenient, but his credentials were outstanding and his reviews told me he was the person for me. Upon meeting Ira I knew that this was the person who was going to get me through my Master's level Biostatistics course. He listened and felt my pain, but was tough on me at times and that's what I needed. I needed someone to make me think and ask me lots of questions so that I would have to think it out and make sense of it. He was very patient with me and spent more time than he really needed to, but he wanted to make sure that I walked away understanding the concepts. And because of that, I went from wanting to give up early on in the course to really enjoying the course and getting A's on homework and tests. I'm happy to say that I did extremely well in the class, thanks to Ira, and ended my semester with an A. I have yet another semester of Biostatistics II, so you can be sure that I will be calling upon Ira!

Claudia A. from Medford, NJ Ira has done a wonderful job tutoring our son. Our son's grades have come up significantly and he enjoys math again. Ira challenges him, teaches him tricks and is always available when and if we need him in pinch. We are fortunate to have found him!

Douglas H. from Haddonfield, NJ Great tutor who was able on very short notice to establish rapport and improve understanding for AP Statistics with improved grades soon following. Ira was courteous, prompt, available and highly capable. I highly recommend him to others in need of similar help.

Steve S. from Mount Laurel, NJ I chose Ira to tutor me for the apprenticeship entrance test for the Philadelphia Carpenters Union. Math was my worst subject since I was in elementary school, and almost all of the material on the test I had not done in almost 10 years, some material I had never covered before. He is very patient, and showed me multiple ways and tricks to do certain material, and told me to use whichever method makes me tick and that I was most comfortable with. Some lessons he stayed past the ending time to go over things with me. He makes sure that you truly "get it" before moving on. In math, there is no "maybe" or "i think so" Either you get it or you don't. By the morning of the test, he had me performing like a well oiled machine. I passed the test, and a very large part of that reason is thanks to Ira.

ROBIN S. from Burlington, NJ My daughter has benefited greatly from the tutoring sessions with Ira S. During the school year, he tutored her in high school Statistics and her grade went from a D to a B, yay! She graduated in the top 15% of her class in June of 2011. Then, in the summer of 2011, Ira S. tutored her in an Algebra-refresher course which enabled my daughter to pass the college placement math test. Currently she is enrolled as a freshman in college. The tutoring was very beneficial and I highly recommend Ira if you need any help in math subjects.
