I was a member of the Boat People Assistance Association for Vietnamese, Laotian, and Cambodian people. I taught Japanese to them as a volunteer teacher from 2002 to 2005. Most of my students were Vietnamese and Chinese. The students sometimes taught us their regional cuisine. It was a nice experience for me.
