Na’Zir is the former Music Director of the Lincoln Park Chamber Orchestra. He is also the former Principal Guest Conductor of the Center City Chamber Orchestra.

For the past three years, Na’Zir has served as an apprentice to Beatrice Affron, Music Director of the Pennsylvania Ballet. He worked with Maestra Affron on several productions of Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

Na’Zir has performed with The Philadelphia Sinfonia, Lakeview Symphony Orchestra, DePaul University Wind Quintet, National Take a Stand Festival Orchestra, and The Curtis Institute Young Artist Orchestra. He has also appeared with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Bacau Philharmonic, and Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra.

In the summer of 2018, he traveled to Europe to participate in the International Institute for Conductors, where he studied with Maestro Ovidiu Balan and Charles Gambetta.

In 2018, he participated in the All-City Philadelphia Concerto Competition where he placed fourth prize(tie), performing Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A major K.622 with pianist Hugh Sung. Na’Zir has participated in masterclasses led by musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, United States Marine Band, and Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

On February 28th, 2017 Na’Zir made his Pop Up debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Music Director of The Philadelphia Orchestra claimed Na’Zir as “Pop Up Guest Conductor 2017.” The Philadelphia Orchestra posted a picture of Na’Zir, Yannick, and CEO with the following caption; “A Future Music Director is among us, Na’Zir takes the stage leading the Philadelphia Orchestra alongside Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin.”

Na’Zir has received the Fresh Smiles Career Grant in 2017 and 2018. He also received artistic direction and financial support from the Primavera Fund and Philadelphia Music Alliance for Youth.
