I was an elementary teacher for 16 years, 2 years in third grade 1 year in second grade and 13 years in first grade. While teaching I tutored 3-5 days per week after school. I love teaching beginning readers or those students who have difficulty reading. If a child has difficulty reading that often appears as difficulty with other subjects, once the reading and comprehension improves, the grades in other subjects improve as well.
