The Child Care Program, offered through West Virginia’s Department of Health and Human Resources, strives to help make child care more affordable and to improve the quality of the care providers themselves. Child Care Resources and Referral agencies work with families to help determine eligibility for the care assistance program. For those who qualify, the program will cover most of the costs associated with child care. The services are available for children who are under the age of 13 or those under 19 who have special needs. In order to be deemed eligible, families must make less than 185% of the Federal Poverty Line. There is also bonus funding available, depending on the type of provider the eligible family selects for their child.
