Write a messageHi there, I’m Nicole and I just moved to Akron this July with my boyfriend and my dog, and I love it so far! I am available for at-your-home pet sitting, dog walking, and drop-ins. I eventually will be able to do boarding, but we are currently renovating the house that we’re living at so it’ll be a little crazy while we do that. My very friendly and well-trained senior dog, Frankie, often comes on my pet sitting adventures with me, and he makes friends with all! He has never had any issues with previous clients’ pets, even when their pet may show a little aggression at first. He is a great pet sitting side kick! My boyfriend may also come keep me company at times if you are comfortable with it, so if you’d like for him also to come to our meet & greet, I would be happy to bring him!
Animals have been one of the greatest consistent joys in my life. My experience includes working on a sustainable farm in Oregon as an assistant animal manager, managing care for the calves, ducks, pigs, chickens, dogs, and cats. I went on to work as a doggy daycare attendant at Central Bark in Portland, OR as a summer job. This position also included bathing and basic grooming on top of playing with the dogs all day. I have done professional pet sitting / dog walking off and on in intensity for the past 5 years (and have pet sat long before that, informally), and very much have loved meeting new fur friends!
I count my dog Frankie as pretty much my best friend. We have had many adventures together ever since I got him in 2009, and I have never taken the responsibility of being a dog owner lightly. I also have had experience in caring for toy dogs, large breeds (I have lived with 2 Great Danes in my past), elderly dogs, physically disabled dogs (I have contributed to the end-of-life care for pets within my family), and those with moderate behavioral issues (i.e. separation anxiety, aggression) . In addition to the animals listed above, I have had extensive experience caring for cats, rats, and ferrets.
A little more about me: I have a BS In Community Health Education from PSU (graduated in 2014), and studied Biomedical Informatics in an online graduate certificate program with OHSU. My hobbies include hiking, biking, knitting, painting, reading, etc. I am a bit of a homebody, enjoying nights in with my boyfriend watching movies and doing arts and crafts or jigsaw puzzles, and I also spend a lot of time in nature, and among animals.
