My name is Daniel Stern, and I’m a music teacher and musician originally from Charlotte, NC. I received my bachelor’s degree in American History from Brown University in 2013, and since then, I’ve worked mostly as a music teacher at an all-girls independent school in Providence, RI.

My experience as an educator in K-12 independent schools developed my understanding of children’s needs and interests across different age groups, from nursery and elementary (I often worked as a substitute in the lower school) up through senior high. In addition to teaching, I worked as a nanny to a 5 year old boy named Asa during the summer of 2016, working from 8am until 4pm preparing meals, bathing and dressing, and going on little trips to the park and children’s museum. I’ve also been an after-school mentor at a youth arts organization, helping to run a small music studio for high school students to play and record music.

I’ve had only positive experiences working with children and young people. I maintain a consistent attitude of wholesome fun and openness while exercising care with respect to boundaries and what is age-appropriate content for conversation or activities.
