Hi! My name is Deanna, and I am passionate about working with children. While my formal babysitting experience is limited, I have frequently helped with childcare in the past, and these experiences have been profoundly rewarding. What I love most about working with kids is the opportunity to learn from them. Each day brings new discoveries, and there is immense joy in nurturing children’s growth and curiosity. My primary role in a neuroscience lab at NYU has given me a unique perspective on the importance of early development, and I am committed to providing an environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired.
I care about individuals so much, and I genuinely feel that mostly stems from the significant role I played in caring for my autistic brother (who is just 10 months older than me) growing up. Even though I am the youngest, I always felt like the adult in the family when it came to taking care of him and taking care of my mom at times when she emotionally could not; this responsibility has shaped me into a compassionate and empathetic caregiver, capable of handling challenges with patience and understanding.
My goal is to foster fun, imaginative, and enriching experiences that encourage children’s natural curiosity.
My philosophy is to do good for others, and the first step of that is to understand them.
