My name is Eva and I love working with kids! I have been working with kids in one way or another for 10 years, and most of my experience is in educational settings. Since moving to Brooklyn in August of 2022, I have worked as a babysitter for three elementary-aged children. I have picked them up after school, mediated arguments, helped with homework, engaged them in creative activities, and brought them to various lessons. It has been really exciting to support their growth over the last year. We have had a lot of fun, but they will not need me for foreseeable future. While I will miss them, I am really looking forward to connecting with and supporting another family. While working with these three kids, I have also assisted the Gowanus Canal Conservancy with their elementary, middle, and high school field trips, furthering my experience with children and environmental education. For two years prior to moving to Brooklyn, I worked as a FoodCorps service member at an elementary school in Western MA. I ran a virtual cooking club for and taught tons of food- and garden- focused lessons over the course of two school years. I was also embedded in a school so I spent a lot of time with students at lunch and recess. As a result, I developed some very sweet, positive, and supportive relationships with many of the elementary school students I worked with. My greatest joy over the last three years was facilitating and witnessing the excitement and joy that students feel when learning means getting their hands dirty and trying new things. What I strive to bring most to my work is compassionate, attentive care to all. I have worked with children from a wide range of backgrounds and consistently work to counter ableism and increase access in the classroom and beyond. I am passionate about how we interact with our environments and I hope to share that with your child(ren).
